Fuel your workout with these delicious, portable energy bites! Made with Juice Plus+ Complete Chocolate, dates, walnuts, and almond butter, they provide the perfect balance of nutrients to keep you energised without feeling too full. Roll them in hemp seeds or cacao powder for a tasty twist. These bites are quick to prepare, easy to carry, and perfect for a pre-workout snack.
Ingredients
+ 2 scoops/sachets of Juice Plus+ Complete Chocolate
+ 200g dates pitted
+ 1 1/4 cups walnuts
+ 1/4 cup hemp seeds (including for rolling)
+ 5g ground cinnamon
+ 5g sea salt
+ 1/4 cup almond butter
+ 20g cacao powder for rolling
+ A bit of milk or rice milk if too dry
Directions
- Place dates in mixer and blend until a ball forms. Set aside.
- Separately blend the walnuts until you get a flour like consistency.
- To the walnut flour, add the Complete Chocolate powder, 30ml hemp seeds, sea salt and cinnamon. Don´t blend for too long.
- Transfer to a bowl and add almond butter.
- Put the dates back into the mixer and mix until you have a smooth dough. If dough is too wet add a little cacao powder, if too dry add a bit of milk.
- Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- Take out of refrigerator and form bite sized balls. To make them look different, roll half of the balls in hemp seed and the other half in cacao powder.
